A&WMA Climate Change 2022

Environmental & Geological Engineering Environmental & Geological Engineering

The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) will host an international conference on climate change, focusing on the commitments and actions required to achieve carbon neutrality and bolster resiliency as society adapts to the inevitable and unforeseen impacts of climate change.
This year's virtual conference will address emerging policies and strategies for tackling climate change impacts, including mitigation, adaptation and resiliency, along with GHG policies and initiatives and innovative technologies. The conference will emphasize the efforts and plans to meet the climate commitments made following the 2021 COP26 meeting in Glasgow, as well as advances in policies since the global 2015 Paris Accord.
Abstracts of 200-300 words on these and related topics are being solicited from researchers, governmental organizations, consultants and industry at the local, state, and national level:
• Climate Change Policy and Implementation – Advances in mitigation and adaptation policies, international commitments, implementation at state, region, or city level
• Climate Change Mitigation – GHG reduction, measurements, inventories, and tracking, carbon neutrality, environmental justice issues
• Climate Change Adaptation and Resiliency – Evaluation of impacts, adaptation planning, sustainability indicators, near- and long-term strategies, successful projects
• Technical Analysis and Innovative Technologies – Climate change science, regional and local trends, renewables, sector decarbonization, and more
