Microservices and Security

Microservices and Security 2021

Computer Security & Cryptography Security & Trust & Testing

Dear Colleagues,
Modern applications are designed and deployed around microservices, containers, and mixed-cloud environments. These environments give developers and operations teams great flexibility, improving efficiency by enabling the reuse of well-tested components in many applications and the dynamic discovery, scaling, and composition of services.
There is a double knot between the higher complexity of these systems and security. On the one hand, perimeters are no longer well-defined and static. The attack surface is larger and more dynamic, opening the door to new threats. On the other hand, security functions can be integrated into the fabric of microservices platforms.
This Special Issue is addressed to all researchers and practitioners at the intersection of microservices and security, including but not limited to the following: DevOps teams proposing new tools and approaches to automating secure development and deployment, architects studying the emerging security features of orchestration models, security researchers devising methodologies for threat modeling and mitigation, privacy experts dealing with data management in distributed environments, etc.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Cybersecurity and Privacy is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1000 CHF (Swiss Francs).
