CALL FOR PAPERS - The Frontiers in Development Policy Conference
17-18 September 2020, Seoul, Republic of Korea
Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management (KDI School) is delighted to invite policy makers, professors, and experts to submit papers related to the field of international development cooperation. Selected papers will be presented during the Frontiers in Development Policy Conference, which will be held from 17-18 September, 2020 in Seoul, Korea.

Background:
Establishment and implementation of development policies could pose various issues and challenges during its policymaking process. It is typical for a policymaker to go through complex problems and obstacles which are often closely interlinked. Thus, successful policymaking requires a solid awareness of specific issues with combination of full understanding of how they interact with each other. Moreover, the ability to design and formulate an effective development strategy must be complemented with the implementation capacity.
The Frontiers in Development Policy Conference aims to share empirical and policy research findings on development policy in the context of international development cooperation. This event will provide a platform not only to explore the complex processes of the global economic market, but also to debate policies and actions towards designing and executing high-quality development policies.
Suggested Topics:
KDI School welcomes submission of high-quality original research papers in the areas of international development policy. Panel or individual papers may also be submitted. Topics of paper include, but are not limited to, the following:
- International Development Cooperation Policy (including priority partner countries)
- Impact Evaluation
- Inclusive Finance and Growth
- Data Economy Research in Development
- Social Economy in Developing Countries
- Conflict and Development
- Open Government and Innovation for Development
Submission Details:
All papers must be written and presented in English. Extended abstracts or original full papers should be submitted to the conference organizer through email jw_yoo@kdischool.ac.kr by 30 June 2020. Papers selected for presentation will be notified based on committee decision after 10 July 2020. The criteria for selecting papers are relevance with regards to the conference themes and the academic quality of the research. Maximum of seven authors will be selected, and those who present the paper at the conference will be awarded with an honorarium of USD 5,000 as well as airfare and accommodation.

Conference Information:
The Frontiers in Development Policy Conference will provide in-depth discussion on the issues of global development policies by experts and specialists from leading international development institutes.
KDI School of Public Policy and Management:
KDI School was established in 1998 as the educational arm of Korea’s leading think tank, Korea Development Institute (KDI). Founded with the mission of fostering international experts in the field of development economics and public policy, one of the school’s goals is to conduct in-depth research and short-term training programs through sharing Korea’s development experiences to contribute in advancing the global development.
