The GiLE Journal of Skills Development (GJSD), established in 2020 in Budapest, Hungary, is an open-access, peer-reviewed international scientific journal on soft skills development for the Digital Age in the 21st Century (eISSN 2732-3781), published by the GiLE Foundation.
The GJSD publishes research on competency (skills) development and 21st Century skills, find out more about the focus of this journal, and meet the GJSD team.
We invite all researchers, PhD students, and professionals to submit articles with us. Our readership includes teachers, trainers, educational administrators, school principals, educational policymakers, curriculum planners, and educational and training researchers as they consider the structure of tomorrow's educational system.

Aims & Scope
This open-access journal is focused on the primary and secondary research of competence (skills) development. It publishes research on 21st Century skills and it emphasises the need for substantial training in this regard across the entire education system and at all levels. The GJSD accepts research articles, research reports, literature reviews, and book reviews.
21st Century skills include interpersonal skills, soft skills, digital skills, media literacy skills, transferrable skills, adaptability and change management, emotional intelligence, empathy, innovation and creativity skills, complex problem-solving skills, communication skills, stress and anxiety management, leadership skills, effective decision making, etc.
Research from the following fields are particularly welcomed: soft skills training, competence development, Education systems, Ethics and responsibility in Education, and ICT in Education. However, this list is not necessarily exhaustive and other relevant research will be considered. Contact the Editor-in-Chief if you are unsure.
The future workplace will be dominated by automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and it has become abundantly clear that 21st Century skills will play a far greater role in all future jobs. The education and training sector has the collective responsibility to nurture relevant skills and to ensure that learning environments remain fit-for-purpose for the digital age.
This journal is intended to be a valuable resource for teachers, curriculum planners, school principals, educational policymakers, educational researchers, all trainers and educational administrators. It welcomes submissions of research in all relevant disciplines (social sciences, education sciences, business and management sciences, etc.), and authors can publish research papers, review articles, summaries and book reviews. This journal specifically encourages authors to experiment with innovative formats as well. Both qualitative and quantitative research papers are of interest across disciplines.
