Call for papers "Power and Democracy" v. 4 n. 2 /2021 – The role of political institutions in complex societies

Both the difficult management of the Covid-19 pandemic and the uncertainties concerning the future of democratic regimes require a serious and meditated reflection on the role of institutions in complex societies.

In particular, the monographic section of the 4th issue of "Power and Democracy" will publish contributions about the way through which institutions "govern" our lives, regulate associated life, interact with the individual destinies of those who, for several reasons (citizens, residents, immigrants, etc.), are societal members of advanced democracies.

Studies aimed at deepening the theoretical and substantial links between legal-economic regulation, institutional innovation and reception (or opposition) from below of old and new governance models are welcome. We expect that they could be led through analyzes also conducted in a historical and comparative key or through the presentation of perspectives, schools or currents of thought that have traditionally dealt with these issues.
