The goal of the conference is to contribute to the development of the interdisciplinary field of Cognitive Science by providing a space to share knowledge among those interested in this field as well as related disciplines. Since its birth in 2007, the Conference adopts a different theme each year, reflecting the broad nature of research undertaken in Cognitive Science.
In 2020, we will strive to shed light on the subject of “RELIGION AND BELIEFS”. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
-Cognitive and psychosocial aspects of religiosity
-Neural correlates of religiosity
-Research on religion - a philosophical perspective
-Methods and history of research on religion in Cognitive Science
-Altered states of consciousness in religious/spiritual experiences
-Cognitive approach to religion vs. other approaches
-Relation between science and religion
-(Non)religious beliefs: paranormal beliefs, conspiracy theories
-Study of atheism
