Special issue on Inclusive Game Design

IGD 2020

Artificial Intelligence

Inclusive game design is a pragmatic approach for inclusion that goes beyond accessibility into aesthetics and user experiences. One reason is that games have deliberate barriers or game rules that challenge abilities, without which it would be no game. Furthermore, inclusive game design is also framed by the intrinsic motivation of playing the game. Thus, the inclusive game design requires a combination of accessibility and aesthetics to create enjoyable game experiences. This special issue highlights aesthetics for inclusion in games, in the intersection of Arts and IT.
