This special session deals with the problem of performance evaluation. Efficiency and productivity growth enables businesses to raise profit and enhance market share at the micro level. Furthermore, it helps a country to counteract inflation, create job opportunities, and to force the necessary industrial restructuring at the macro level. There is widespread and pervasive consensus among academic researchers in the field of growth theory, policy makers, and/or businessmen that efficiency and productivity growth is indispensable to sustainable economic growth. The goal is to present both theoretical and practical recent types of research dealing with efficiency, productivity, performance measurement, and improvement. Indeed, this session seeks to develop an understanding in and across manufacturing, service, and public sector organizations.
