CALL FOR PAPERS
2nd IEEE Workshop on Security Trust Privacy for Emerging Cyber-Physical Systems (IEEE STP-CPS)
with 17th IEEE SECON 2020, June 22-26, 2020, Como, Italy
URL: https://sites.google.com/view/ieee-stp-cps/home
In recent years, Cyber-Physical System (CPS) has become an important research direction for academia, industry, and government agencies as CPS is considered to be following the third wave of world information technology after the computer and the Internet. Software defined networking (SDN) is an emerging technology that can be integrated with CPS to provide scalable, reliable, secure and efficient communication in heterogeneous infrastructure. Blockchain technology clearly emerged as of increasing importance as it offers security solutions in various domains including CPS.
This workshop aims to bring together a number of researchers from academia, industry, and government agencies to focus on understanding security challenges and attack surface of modern cyber-physical systems, and architect innovative solutions with the help of cutting-edge technologies like SDN and Blockchain.
The workshop will serve as a forum for sharing experiences and outcomes with protocol design, real testbeds, experimental evaluation, prototyping and empirical characterization of Blockchain and SDN technologies in CPS.  The workshop will facilitate discussions on unresolved issues in the field, such as blockchain-based security solutions of critical infrastructures, secure and resilient system architectures, protocols and applications for softwarized CPS environment, and SDN capabilities in critical infrastructures, as well as key challenges facing the software defined CPS of the future.
The workshop welcomes poster proposals for demonstrations of novel work / work-in-progress in software defined networking Blockchain for security in critical infrastructure as well as testbeds, measurement platforms and results, and innovative prototypes.
Important Dates
Paper Submission Deadline: March 15, 2020
Acceptance Notification: April 20, 2020
Final Camera-Ready Submission: May 1, 2020
Authors Instruction:
Papers should neither have been published elsewhere nor be currently under review at another venue. All papers for IEEE SECON 2020 must be submitted electronically via the conference submission link. Each submission must be no longer than 6 pages in IEEE Conference format and in font size no smaller than 10 points. Submissions that violate the formatting guidelines will be rejected without review.
All submitted papers will be judged based on their quality and relevance through *double-blind* reviewing, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the reviewers. As an author, you are required to preserve the anonymity of your submission, while at the same time allowing the reader to fully grasp the context of related past work, including your own. Common sense and careful writing will go a long way towards preserving anonymity. Papers that do not conform to our double-blind submission policies will be rejected without review.
To be published in the IEEE SECON 2020 conference proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore®, one author of each accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full (member or non-member) rate. The paper must be presented by an author of that paper at the conference, unless the TPC co-chairs grant permission for a substitute presenter arranged in advance. The designated presenter should be qualified to both present the paper and answer questions. Non-refundable registration fees must be paid prior to uploading the final IEEE formatted, publication-ready version of the paper. Only IEEE Xplore compliant papers received by the camera-ready deadline can appear in the proceedings. For authors with multiple accepted papers, one full registration is valid for up to 3 papers. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE SECON 2020 conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore® as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
The organizers of IEEE SECON 2020 as well as our attendees expect accepted papers to be presented at the conference. IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.
