Special track along with SEMAPRO 2019, The Thirteenth International Conference on Advances in Semantic Processing http://www.iaria.org/conferences2019/SEMAPRO19.html
September 22, 2019 to September 26, 2019 - Porto, Portugal
Chairs and Coordinators
* Dr. Efstratios Kontopoulos, Center for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), Greece

Call for Papers
In an environment of rapidly increasing volumes of available data, the progressive rise of semantic technologies provides a wide range of tools for representing and processing information more efficiently, for establishing interoperability between diverse systems, and for integrating data from heterogeneous sources. The role of these technologies now plays a pivotal role in various domains (e.g., semantic search, conversational agents, digital humanities, etc.), but has been considerably downplayed in healthcare and accessibility, where its potential has not yet been extensively tapped into. Towards addressing this shortcoming, and having the ambition to improve the social inclusion of people facing healthcare and accessibility issues, this special track aims to serve as a venue for presenting and discussing novel ideas, experiences and open problems in the application of semantic and web technologies in the relevant domains.
Topics include, but not limited to
* Practical applications in healthcare or accessibility, capitalizing on semantic workflow technologies and/or semantic web services;
* Relevant ontologies, vocabularies, semantic models and knowledge graphs;
* Designing artificial languages for healthcare applications under limited communication opportunities;
* Semantic querying and rule-based systems in the respective domains;
* Empirical studies and evaluation of relevant semantics-enabled tools and applications;
* Semantic integration of heterogeneous information (potentially from multimodal sources);
* Semantic infrastructures supporting provenance, trust, and reproducibility;
* Future directions for semantic technologies in healthcare, accessibility and relevant interdisciplinary fields.
