Call for papers/Topics

Full Articles/ Reviews/ Shorts Papers/ Abstracts are welcomed in the following research fields:

1. Chemical Engineering

These topics form the bedrock of the discipline, focusing on how matter and energy are manipulated on a large scale.

  • Transport Phenomena: The study of momentum (fluid mechanics), heat, and mass transfer.

  • Chemical Thermodynamics: Phase equilibria, chemical reaction equilibria, and the laws governing energy conversion.

  • Reaction Engineering & Kinetics: Design and optimization of chemical reactors ($r = kC^n$) and understanding the rates of chemical reactions.

  • Separation Processes: Techniques to purify substances, including distillation, absorption, extraction, and membrane filtration.

  • Process Control & Dynamics: Using mathematical models and sensors to maintain stability and safety in automated industrial systems.

2. Biological & Bioprocess Engineering

This area applies engineering principles to biological systems, bridging the gap between "lab bench" biology and industrial production.

  • Biochemical Engineering: Scaling up biological processes, such as fermentation for pharmaceuticals or biofuels.

  • Cellular & Molecular Engineering: Manipulation of cell pathways and genetic engineering to produce specific proteins or metabolites.

  • Biocatalysis: Using enzymes as industrial catalysts to perform highly specific chemical transformations.

  • Synthetic Biology: Designing and constructing new biological parts, devices, and systems for practical purposes.

  • Bioinformatics: Using computational tools to analyze large biological datasets, such as genomic sequences.

3. Environmental Engineering & Sustainability

This branch focuses on protecting human health and the environment by managing waste and resources.

  • Water & Wastewater Treatment: Physical, chemical, and biological methods to purify water for consumption or safe discharge.

  • Air Quality Engineering: Control of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants (like $SO_x$ and $NO_x$) from industrial sources.

  • Solid & Hazardous Waste Management: The treatment, disposal, and recycling of industrial and municipal waste.

  • Environmental Remediation: Cleanup of contaminated soil and groundwater using techniques like bioremediation or soil vapor extraction.

  • Sustainability & Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): Quantifying the total environmental impact of a product from "cradle to grave."

4. Interrelated & Emerging Cross-Disciplinary Topics

These subtopics represent the areas where the three main branches overlap significantly.

  • Green Chemistry & Engineering: Designing chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances.

  • Biorefinery Systems: Integrating chemical and biological processes to convert biomass into fuels, power, and chemicals (a bridge between all three fields).

  • Waste-to-Energy (WtE): Using chemical or biological methods (like anaerobic digestion or gasification) to turn waste streams into energy.

  • Nanotechnology: Engineering materials at the molecular scale for targeted drug delivery (Bio/Chem) or high-efficiency water filters (Env/Chem).

  • Sustainable Energy Systems: Development of fuel cells, solar cells, and advanced batteries using chemical and material science principles.

  • Systems Biology & Ecology: Using mathematical modeling to understand complex interactions within a biological cell or an entire ecosystem.
