The ASEAN Education Cities Conference 2022 will serve as a platform for researchers and scholars from academia, industry, organisations and other stakeholders, to share their ideas, best practices or research findings on smart and sustainable cities, and to work together towards developing and exploring new ways of educating the next generations of planetary-health caretakers.

The AECC 2022 focuses on the way cities function as spaces for education, but also how educational institutions can support the sustainable development of cities and communities, through research, teaching, policy advising and public engagement.

The Organising Committee of the AECC 2022 invites submissions of proposals for 15-minute papers (approx. 2,500-word papers).

All submitted proposals will be reviewed by the conference Scientific Committee

We invite proposals that examine cities as case studies. We are particularly keen to receive proposals that examine cities as laboratories, such as Sunway City.

THEME 1 – SUSTAINABLE AND RESILIENT CITIES

How can ASEAN cities cope with crises, stresses and shocks? Which cities are models of sustainable development, management and disaster prevention?

THEME 2 – LIVEABLE AND HEALTHY CITIES

How are cities regenerated in the region? What are the new ways of living and working? What kinds of urban planning strategies can be developed?

THEME 3 – GREEN AND DECARBONISED CITIES

How can green technologies help tackle the challenges of tomorrow and ensure the ASEAN countries’ prosperity?

THEME 4 – INCLUSIVE AND WELCOMING CITIES

How to ensure well-being in cities? What measures can be taken to preserve cultural identities, living together and uprooted communities?
